ICOFC to Cooperate with Italy to Convert Flare Gas into Electricity

Ahmad Rajabi, technical director of the firm, was quoted by ICOFC Public Relations as saying that a memorandum of understanding has been signed with Italy"s Ansaldo Energia to renew some oil and gas installations and to collect flare gases and convert them into electricity .
Referring to 9 MOUs with some international companies to develop and complete IOR and EOR projects, Rajabi said 6 of the MOUs are on the verge of completion and once the MDP is sent to NIOC board of directors, the projects will be implemented.
Rajabi pointed to EPCF development package of the Iranian Central Oil Fields company and said $5.5b has been allocated to develop ICOFC oil and gas fields and gas pressure stations.
He added that the investment package would increase oil, gas and condensate production of the company up to 300 thousand bpd , 400 mcm and 110 thousand bpd respectively.
He also said that the company would prevent the wastage of 150 million cubic meters of associated gases by implementation of the MOU signed with Ansaldo Energia.
Elsewhere in his remarks Rajabi said ICOFC supplies 25 to 40 percent of the countries gas consumption and development and production of oil from some joint fields with Iraq is under the responsibility of the Iranian Central Oil Fields Company as well.
