ICOFC, as the first company under the National Iranian Oil Company, has managed to utilize composite repair technology in Nar & Kangan operational region to repair and mend gas pipelines. According to ICOFC Public Relations, Inspection and Technical protection department of South Zagros Oil and Gas Production Company together with the repair engineering dept. of Nar and Kangan operational region could repair and mend 42-inch-pipelines of the gas compressor station of the region through composite technology, using carbon fiber. The report says Composites can be used to repair product pipelines, such as natural gas and petroleum pipes at oil refineries and offshore platforms, and to rehabilitate underground storage tanks without the time and expense of excavation. The composite repair not only provides proven permanent reinforcement but also corrosion protection to the pipeline from the effects of the continual airborne drift and vapour from the cooling towers. South Zagros oil and gas production company, as one of the three subsidiaries of the Iranian Central Oil Fields Company, based in Shiraz, is in charge of producing oil and gas from the fields located in provinces such as Fars, Hormozgan ,Boshehr, Kohgiloyeh & boyerahmad and Charmahal & bakhtiyari. This company is responsible for providing gas and condensate from independent gas fields in four operational regions including Nar & Kangan, Aghar & Dalan, Sarkhon, and Parsian. It also produces oil from new oil fields such as Sarvestan and Saadat Abad fields. Part of gas outlet of the company is transferred to fields of National Iranian South Oil Companyand major part is transferred to refineries under National Iranian Gas Company. Companys condensate is sent to Shiraz, Bandar Abbas, Parsian and Fajr Jam refineries and Bandar Taheri for export.
