Iranian Minister of Petroleum Bijan Zangeneh says the fate of all of Irans joint oil and gas fields will be determined by the end of Iranian President Hassan Rouhanis second term to 2021.

Speaking to state media on Sunday, the official said enhancing production of Irans oil and gas fields as well as adopting enhanced oil recovery (EOR) and improved oil recovery (IOR) methods for boosting production of the fields are top on his agenda in President Rouhanis cabinet in his second term in office.

He predicted that the fate of all of Irans joint oil and gas fields will be decided by the end of Mr. Rouhanis second term.

"It might be that they will not be fully operational by then, but their developed projects will have begun by the end of the second Rouhani administration," he said.

Parliamentarians on Sunday nodded Iranian Minister of Petroleum Bijan Zangenehs reappointment in President Rouhanis cabinet.

The parliament held a confidence vote on Sunday during which it reaffirms Mr. Zangenehs stay in office in President Rouhanis second term.

The lawmakers cast 230 votes for Rouhanis pick for petroleum ministry and 35 against votes.

The legislature started debating the credentials of the 17 nominees on Tuesday. The debate continued on Wednesday and Thursday, and then on Saturday, Presstv reported.

The entire proceedings were broadcast live in the Iranian national TV as it was demanded by the parliament.

Rouhani won re-election back in May. He took the oath of office earlier this month after being formally endorsed as the Iranian chief executive by Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.
