A senior official at Italy"s ENI says enhancing production from oilfields by even 1% would be a great advancement for Iran.

Addressing an upstream forum at the 3rd Iranian Petroleum and Energy Club Congress and Exhibition in Tehran on Wednesday, Alessandro Tiani, Vice President of Enhanced Recovery Technologies and Advanced Reservoir Modeling at Eni, said raising production rate of oil wells would be a great success for Iran"s oil industry given the size of its reserves.

He said enhanced oil recovery (EOR) methods must be adopted in Iran"s oil industry in order to save the fields and boost their output.

Tiani also underlined the advancement of new technologies in the world which have helped EOR methods and have accelerated operations in a more efficient manner.
