Crude oil recovery from Khesht oilfield will come online by the end of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21), operator to the fields development projects said. Managing director of South Zagros Oil and Gas Production Co. said SZOGPC will start production of 20,000 bpd of crude oil recovered from the field by the end of the year. Gholamhussein Montazeri said production of 20,000 bpd is targeted in the first phase development of the field which will be exported through the Genaveh terminal. He said the fields oil output will cross 30,000 bpd once phase two of its development completes. Phase one devleoment of the field is 80% complete. The field is estimated to contain a billion barrels of crude oil in place of which 270,000 million barrels of recoverable light oil. Development of the field, 45 km off the southwestern city of Kazeroun, started in 2006. Khesht oil field development consists of four wellhead facilities, flow lines of oil gathering, oil production facilities and injection and pipeline.
