According to Public Relations of the Iranian Central Oil Fields Company Last year,Iranian Central Oil Fields Company drilled and completed 9 new wells and 7 repair wells using eight drilling rigs.

Sigarodi, Head of drilling department of ICOFC announced this news and said in some operational fields such as Dehloran, Saadat Abad, Tabnak, Homa and Cheshmeh Khosh we have significantly reduced the drilling time and increased drilling rate.

He also said his department operated in the field of optimizing drilling operations, by optimizing drill bit selection, mechanical and hydraulic parameters of drilling operations, as well as designing and selecting drilling methods.

Referring to successful development of ultra deep highly deviated wells, especially in fields with special features he said: : This will enable the company to drill advanced wells with high recovery rates.

On drilling of Dehloran field, which is one of the most complex and difficult fields in drilling operations among Iranian fields Sigarodi said: The drilling department succeeded in drilling a well at a depth of 4700 meters (TVD = 4400 Mt) and a 75 degree angle (Highly Deviated).

The report says Iranian Central Oil Fields Company, is one of the five major oil and gas production companies and second gas producer of the country. This company has undertaken production and development of most onshore fields of the country located in Lorestan, Kordestan, Kermanshah, Markazi, Qom, Illam, Khorasan, West & East Azerbaijan, Ardabil, Fars, Bushehr, Hormozgan and Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari, Provinces. At present the company supplies almost half of the country"s gas demand.

ICOFC is in charge of development and production from 80 oil and gas fields including 51 gas fields, 28 oilfields, and one oil-gas field. Currently, 13 gas fields and 13 oilfields in the realm of the Iranian Central Oil Fields Company are on stream. ICOFC Headquarters, based in Tehran, is responsible for making policies and adapting macro strategies for oil and gas production and development.
