In line with maintenance and enhancement of oil production, drilling operation of 18 wells in three ICOFC fields is underway through EPD/EPC contracts.

Ramin Hatami, the Chief Executive Officer of the Iranian Central Oil Fields Company, was quoted by ICOFC Public Relations as saying that the underway project is being implemented in Danan, Naftshahr and Saadat Abad oil fields to increase oil production capacity.

Hatami added that three local companies are awarded the contract to drill 13 new wells and overhaul 5 existing wells in the aforementioned fields.

According to ICOFC PR the project is aimed at oil production rise in Danan, Saadat Abad and Naftshahr fields from 8 to 19 thousand barrels of oil per day in Danan, from 4 to 7 thousnad oil production in Saadat Abad, and from 3 to 5.7 thousand barrels of oil in Naftshahr filed.

Iranian Central Oil Fields Company, is one of the five major oil and gas production companies and second gas producer of the country. This company has undertaken production and development of most onshore fields of the country located in Lorestan, Kordestan, Kermanshah, Markazi, Qom, Illam, Khorasan, West & East Azerbaijan, Ardabil, Fars, Bushehr, Hormozgan and Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari, Provinces. At present the company supplies almost half of the country"s gas demand.
