Iran, Korea Sign MoU on Gas Export Cooperation

National Iranian Gas Export Company (NIGEC) and South Koreas KOGAS signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in order to embark on a facilitative cooperation in the field of natural gas.

According to NIOC National Iranian Gas Export Company (NIGEC) and South Koreas KOGAS signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in order to embark on a facilitative cooperation in the field of natural gas.

The MoU that has been signed in the sidelines of the 200-member Korean delegation visiting Tehran will provide the opportunities for the two countries to establish a necessary infrastructure for further cooperation in the field.

Expressing strong hope considering Koreans cooperation in LNG projects and exporting gas, managing director of NIGEC, Alireza Kameli stated that KOGAS is also interested to take part in the Iran-Oman gas pipeline project.

Korea Gas Corporation (KOGAS) is a public natural gas company that was established by the Korean government in 1983. KOGAS has grown into the largest LNG-importing company in the world and operates four LNG degasification terminals and 4,440 km of natural gas pipelines in South Korea.
