A member of the Iranian parliament said Iran will not shut its eyes to recapturing its market share after the sanctions removal even through OPEC decided to stick to its policy to supply as much oil to the market as possible. "Despite the feared oil price slump due to OPECs decision, Iran will not turn a blind eye on recapturing its share of the market," said Jafar Ghaderi, a member of the budget and planning committee of the parliament. In its December 4 meeting, OPEC members decided to retain the organizations policy to produce much oil as they can to squeeze out less efficient producers of the item. He further said given the downward trend in oil prices, considering oil prices over $40 in the countrys annual budget is not defendable but the country must not forego its right to capture its market share after the sanctions removal.
