ICOFC to Enhance Oil Output by 100 thousand bpd

Managing director of the Iranian Central Oil Fields Company elaborated on 100 thousand barrels per day of oil production enhancement in ICOFC fields after sanctions are lifted.

Managing director of the Iranian Central Oil Fields Company elaborated on 100 thousand barrels per day of oil production enhancement in ICOFC fields after sanctions are lifted. Salbali Karimi was quoted by ICOFC Public Relations as saying that the average oil crude production of the Iranian Central Oil Fields Company stands at 100,000 bpd. Referring to oil production capacity of the company he said ICOFC can boost oil output in short term if the oil minister orders and we the capacity of increasing oil production by 150,000 bpd. “With new plans being implemented, oil production capacity of the company will reach 195 to 200 thousand barrels per day”, the official reiterated. Pointing out the small-medium sized oil fields under ICOFC he said instability of oil production from such fields is much more than the large fields. However, a total plan to raise oil production from small-medium sized oil fields is underway. He concluded: according to the framework of the 6th development plan of the country ICOFC should increase oil output by 300 to 350 thousand barrels per day, and we have planned to improve oil production capacity through EOR and IOR technologies after removal of sanctions. According to ICOFC Public Relations, The Iranian Central Oil Fields Company is one of the five major oil and gas production companies under NIOC (National Iranian Oil Company) in upstream sector, with three subsidiaries, having the responsibility of supplying over 65 percent of countries gas demand.
