The CEO of the National Iranian Oil Company said: "Development and completion of phase 11 of South Pars Gas Field is one of the main priorities of the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC). In the development plan of phase 11, we are now drilling wells and part of gas recovery from the phase will begin next [calendar] year."

According to Fars News Agency, Mohsen Khojastehmehr, referring to the plan of the National Iranian Oil Company to increase gas production, said: “The long-term plan of the National Iranian Oil Company is to increase the country's gas production capacity in a period of 8 to 10 years by 1.5 times, that is, from a daily production capacity of one billion cubic meters to a daily production capacity of 1. 5 billion cubic meters.”

He added: "This amount of output growth is determined in proportion to the needs of the country in the future, and we really need this amount of increase in gas production to supply gas to industries and develop Iran's export markets."

Regarding Farzad A and B gas fields, the Deputy Minister of Petroleum said: “Farzad B gas field currently has a contract with a domestic company. The current plan focuses on the supply and installation of jackets in this gas field, and we have accelerated this work. The jacket of this field has now been determined, and it will take about 6 months to move and install this jacket.”

On the state of Farzad A gas field, he said: “Saudi Arabia has started its production from Farzad A field; these two Farzad gas fields have special gas and formations. In Farzad A, we have started the appraisal and preliminary operations, but now our main focus is on Farzad B field.”

The NIOC CEO further talked about the condition of the Kish gas field: “14 wells had been drilled in the Kish gas field in the past, but these wells need acid work. Preparing these wells for production is easy. We plan to commission the first phase of this field, but the recovery from this field requires construction of a 200-kilometer pipeline.”

Khojastehmehr stated: “The work related to the conceptual studies of this field has started and the board of directors’ approvals concerning the field have been obtained. Overall, our estimate is that in by 2023 production will begin from this field.”

He continued: “North Pars gas field is equivalent to four phases of South Pars gas field. Of course, the fluid of this field is different from South Pars field. We are taking two steps to produce from this field. First, start drilling a well and select a contractor to assemble the previous facility. The second thing is that we are choosing a consultant to conduct conceptual studies on this field.”

The Deputy Minister of Petroleum added: "Our estimate of gas production from the North Pars field is 100 million cubic meters per day. We envisage the same production figure for Kish gas field.”
