The National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) has signed 13 major oil and gas extraction research contracts worth a total of €35 million and Rls. 7,160 billion with 13 Iranian universities and research centers.

The National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) ranked first among the worlds largest oil companies in terms of total oil and gas discovery in 2019, with the discovery of 4.973 billion barrels of equivalent hydrocarbon reserves.

Iranian Minister of Petroleum Bijan Zangeneh said the country’s natural gas exports amounted to 16 billion cubic meters per year.

Iranian Central Oil Fields Company (ICOFC) has started four research projects in collaboration with the country’s major universities and research institutions.

Iranian Central Oil Fields Company has planned to implement a $600-million to construct pressure boosting stations to ensure sustainable gas supply to refineries in the country’s central regions.

Sumar oil field, which was discovered in 2009 in the western province of Kermanshah, is jointly owned by Iran and Iraq. It holds 475 million barrels of crude oil in place, 70 million barrels of which is recoverable.

Danan oil field in Ilam Province is located along Iran’s border with Iraq. It lies 80 kilometers northwest of Andimeshk and 30 kilometers southeast of Dehloran. The field incorporates Bangestan and Asmari reservoirs.
